Our Art curriculum:
- is ambitious and aspirational challenging children to engage in new experiences and question artists work
- is meaningful and links to real life professions and experiences
- is engaging and accessible covering a broad range of artists, skills and techniques

- celebrates our diverse community and reflects artists from a range of cultural backgrounds
Redriff’s Wider Curriculum Implementation
Our Art curriculum:
- focuses on developing a range of skills and techniques including – drawing, painting, print, collage, 3D
- develops children’s skills to generate ideas, make and evaluate
- focuses on knowledge acquisition of a range of artists and designers
- is well sequenced and connected so skills and knowledge build over time
- covers the national curriculum and goes beyond providing opportunities to work with more specialist materials and in Year 5 and 6 with professional artists.
- is topic based with cross-curricular links to core subject learning
- provides enrichment opportunities through extra-curricular clubs and working with external agencies.
- is adapted to meet the needs of all pupils.
- is assessed against success criteria highlighting keys skills and techniques learnt, as well as teaching the children to be reflective in their practice
- use a variety of high quality materials and techniques
