The Redriff curriculum
Cultivating curiosity and enthusiasm
Rotherhithe, London, the world
At Redriff, we strive towards developing a love of learning in all our pupils whilst cultivating skills and knowledge. We ensure that our curricula are relevant, current and meaningful so they prepare our children as powerful learners to enter a world that is rapidly changing and ever-evolving.
Therefore our curricula go above and beyond the objectives outlined in the National Curriculum. We have adapted our curricula so they are fitting for our diverse community, locality and local context (such as the Docklands) with key golden threads such as sustainability, relationships and community running through it.
We have a knowledge and skills curriculum which:
- Is values-driven and linked by concepts within and across subjects and year groups to enable children to know more, remember more and do more over time
- Fills all children with a spirit of curiosity and a passion for learning.
- Develops children to have creative, enquiring minds- critical thinkers who can communicate eloquently and confidently
- Children see themselves as learners and can talk about how they learn
- Raises children’s aspirations- to express unlimited potential – through purposeful, engaging and challenging learning experiences
- Equips children to navigate a range of challenges through problem solving, evaluating and improving
- Leads children to see themselves as agents of change and have the desire and capacity to change the world for the better using their strong moral purpose and ethical responsibility to guide them – empowered to stand up for what they believe in
- Educators of future generations
- Our curriculum is ambitious, meaningful and engaging. It represents and celebrates our diverse community and is inclusive of all. It develops children to be inquisitive about the world around them and through this they develop a passion to learn deeply. Our curriculum means that children are knowledgeable and enlightened about their world; they are compassionate about their place in their world; they embrace difference and are resilient in the face of challenges they may meet. We equip our children with the knowledge, skills, social and cultural capital required to be successful in life.
