Redriff’s writing Implementation
Our reading curriculum
- teaches writing and grammar through rich topic based units
- focuses on skill development and knowledge acquisition, including transcription, text generation and executive functions such as self-regulation and monitoring
- inspires young writers with the inclusion of quality texts and drama activities
- explicitly teaches the writing cycle of planning, drafting, revising, editing and publishing
- supports children to “read as a writer”, consider the use and impact of the author’s voice and use well chosen language
- is well sequenced and connected so skills and knowledge build over time
- ensures no child is left behind
- is designed and informed by the ‘Dramatic Progress in Literacy’ (DPiL) programme
- is supported by DPiL training and consultancy days
